Gila River Rafting in Arizona Guides & Outfitters
Though a major waterway for Arizona, the Gila River has fewer navigable sections than many of the other rivers rafted in the state. For a placid float, there's the 65 mile Class I - III from Virden (NM) to Solomon, a fun run that passes through the Gila Box, an area rife with sycamore, Goodding willows, cottonwoods and a ribbon of plant life that thrives along the river corridor. Expect to see wildlife including black bear, javelina, Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep, beavers and mountain lions if you're one of the fortunate.
Most of the Gila River runs a Class I - II, making this a fantastic family trip.
