Salt River Rafting in Arizona Guides & Outfitters
The Salt River is free-flowing from its headwaters down to Theodore Roosevelt Dam, where the first of 4 hydroelectric dams are located, this stretch of water being the Upper Salt rated a Class II - Class IV. The Lower Salt, described as having very little current except during dam releases. The scenery on the Upper Salt is said to rival the fun of the river itself, though the spectacle of the Sonoran Desert is worthwhile on both runs. The season here is short, generally March through May, though this depends greatly on winter snowpack and spring rainfall.
As always, check with the guides below to determine if the Salt River is suited to your experience level.
