Born in southwest Utah, the Virgin River flows through Mt. Zion National Park and Virgin River Gorge before it joins with the Colorado at Lake Mead Reservoir in Northwest Arizona, crossing Arizona for a total of about 30 miles. The Gorge is rated a Class I to Class III, making this a beautifully scenic float for families of all ages. There are campgrounds along the way less likely to be crowded as this is not one of Arizona's giants to raft.
